Do you feel like being natural isn’t cost effective? Wrong! Your natural hair journey is only as expensive as you make it. We get so caught up on products that are hyped up, that we forget that there are plenty of cost friendly products, that work just as well as the high end products. So here I wrote Ten Products, all for under $10. This is a full hair care routine, that is mainly curly girl friendly, college student budget friendly, or if you’re into using something new. If you tried/ or want to try any of these products out, let me know!
1&2 – Tresemme Botanique Damage Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner. $6.29 each
Now, I know we all probably know about Tresemme. This is apart of the newer line. I’ve been using these for the past 2 months now, and I love them! The shampoo lathers really well, but it’s not hard to rinse out. Plus no stripping of the hair. The conditioner has macadamia oil and whey protein. It’s very moisturizing and has A LOT of slip. Also in this line, Tresemme does have a coconut that is silicone free, so if you follow the curly girl method, you can try those out instead. These products can be found at any drugstore. I get mine from Walgreens
3 – As I Am Coconut Cowash $9.29 / Eden Bodyworks Coconut Cowash $8.49
Cowashing is a great way to cleanse your hair in between shampoo’s. My favorite is the As I Am cowash. Its a little bit more cleansing then moisturizing, which I look for in a cowash, because I don’t want any product left behind on my hair. The second option is the Eden Bodyworks cowash (EBW). A lot of customers rave about this cowash because its an all natural product, and people say its more moisturizing than cleansing, but is still effective at removing product buildup. I don’t think I could every give up my As I Am, but If you curlies wanted a second option, The EBW is a great product to try.
4 – Eden Bodyworks Deep Treatment Masque $8.49 (Get it at Sally’s, much cheaper)
I am a serious deep conditioner junkie. If a new product line comes out, the first thing I’m buying is the deep conditioner! This deep conditioner is amazing all around. Its a staple in my routine. It is 16oz, curly girl friendly, and very moisturizing. It’s super affordable, and I hope they never raise the price, because when these go on sale at Sally’s B2G1, I stock up!
5 – Eden Bodyworks Leave In Conditioner $8.49
This lightweight leave in penetrates deep into the hair strands, and doesn’t leave your hair with a waxy coating. Since shea butter reacts differently to everyone’s hair (like it just sits on top of my hair), this leave in has more moisturizing ingredients all at the top of the list, like water, coconut oil, aloe vera, etc. It has really good flexibly, meaning that it mixes well with different products from other brands.
6 – Eden Bodyworks Curl Defining Crème $8.49
Y’all can tell I really like this EBW line? This defining crème is perfect for any texture of hair. Whether your hair is curly or kinky, and anything in between, it gives the perfect balance of moisture with slight hold. It doesn’t leave my hair heavy or oily. Perfect for wash n go’s, twist outs, braid out, updos, etc.
7 – African Royal Hot Six Oil $4.39
I’m sure y’all already go down the kitchen aisle to get your hair oil (no shame lol). But those of you that prefer to get something specifically for hair, then I would recommend the Hot Six Oil. This product is filled with amazing oils like sweet almond oil, ginseng, and wheat germ oil. This is also a multi use product because you can use it for hot oil treatments, bath oil, scalp oil, cuticle oil, etc.
8 – Wide Tooth Comb $1.99
Detangling is such a pain! But when you have a great detangling tool, it makes life so much easier. A wide tooth comb makes for less breakage, less pulling on the hair, and less pain.
9 – Plugged In Silicone Styling Brush $5.99
Now, who knows about the Denman Brush? Now, who is trying to pay $12 for that brush? LOL! But I own the denman brush, and it is apart of my regular routine, but I found a dupe! This Plugged In brush is $7 at Sally’s. The rubber back feel is identical to the denman. So if you’ve been wanting to try out the denman brush, but you didn’t want to spend the coins, now is the time to try it out the Plugged In brand. Since it is brand new, so I haven’t tried it yet, but you know I HAVE to do a comparison post to let y’all know the deal.
10 – A Pic! $3.19
If you love any kind of volume, you need a pic! This is my favorite kind of pic, because the teeth are longer, and long teeth equal more volume!
I hope I showcased some new products to you all that you want to try. I wanted to create a regimen that works for all hair types, with products that can all be found locally.
